Grand Opening of Go Ape Treetop Adventure at Creve Coeur County Park on July 26th, 2013

Go Ape and St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to announce the grand opening of the first treetop adventure course in Missouri on July 26th at Creve Coeur Park in Maryland Heights, MO.  Under this public private partnership, Go Ape and St. Louis County Parks will offer residents and tourists of the St. Louis Metropolitan area a unique outdoor experience that allows participants to live life adventurously and experience Creve Coeur Park from a new vantage point, from 40 feet up in the trees.

Go Ape is a highly interactive adventure where participants are equipped with harnesses, pulleys and carabineers and receive a 30-minute training session before they are turned loose into the forest canopy.  The course at Creve Coeur Park will provide visitors with 2-3 hours of outdoor fun and exercise.  The course features five ziplines, including the first skateboard zipline in the Midwest, two Tarzan swings and over 40 other challenging and fun obstacles. The course is designed for all athletic levels and encourages participants to push themselves and turn “I can’t” into “I can.”

“St. Louis County Parks is very excited that Go Ape is bringing its Treetop Adventure Course to Creve Coeur Park,” said St. Louis County Parks and Recreation Acting Director Tom Ott.  “Go Ape is a great addition to St. Louis County Parks, which offers a variety of recreational programs and activities for its residents.  This will be another recreational opportunity for residents and visitors who want to enjoy the outdoors.”

Some sessions will be open to the public prior to the grand opening.  For more details visit To see video of the Go Ape experience, visit Go Ape’s YouTube channel at

Go Ape’s mission is to encourage everyone to live life adventurously while supporting park departments across the country.  To date, Go Ape has developed rewarding partnerships with park departments in Delaware, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Missouri, and Virginia.  Under each partnership, a portion of every ticket sold goes back to the respective park department while 100% of the capital investment is paid for by Go Ape. In addition, Go Ape leads park stewardship programs, develops educational signage, hosts yearly fundraisers to raise funds for the park and provides free and discounted tickets to underserved and special needs communities.  Go Ape aligns its goals and activities to those of its park partners to encourage the sustainability and health of the parks and the communities they serve.
